The City of Slater is now accepting applications for pool staff for 2026!

-Must be 14+ to work in concessions/bathhouse/slide.

-Must be 15+ to work as a lifeguard.

-Must be 18+ to work as a pool manager.

2025 Pool Hours: 

• Public Swim: Closed until 2026
• Morning Adult Swim: Closed until 2026

2025 Pool Passes & Rates:

*Discounted pool passes can be purchased Wednesday, Apr. 1 - Friday, May 22 at City Hall, 101 Story St., 8am-4pm, Mon-Fri. Passes will revert back to regular price after May 22.

*Covers up to 5 people who can be claimed together on income taxes; additional family members are $25 each

**Same as Family Pass, but with the addition of 1 babysitter

***Can only be used with a commercial daycare to attend on that daycare’s scheduled days

****Rate is based on residency in Slater city limits

2025 Swimming Lesson Dates:

• Session 1: June 16-June 27  (9am, 10am, and 11am sessions)
• Session 2: July 14-July 25  (9am, 10am, and 11am sessions)
• Session 3 Aug 4.-Aug. 15  (6:10pm or 7:10pm sessions only; no am sessions offered)

Enrollment will be accepted as first come, first serve.

For everyone’s safety, enrollment is capped at each level. For definitions of these levels and a check list of things students need to be able to do be in each level, go to the City of Slater’s website at slateriowa.org, and on the main page, press the “Pool Info” icon on the homepage.

• Must be 5 years of age by the first day of lessons.

Cost:

• $50 per session, per child (if child lives within city limits)
• $60 per session, per child (if child lives outside city limits)

Cash, check, and cards accepted. No refunds will be given except for medical emergencies.

-*Swim Lesson Sign-Ups are in-person, 5:30pm-6:30pm, Tues., Apr. 29 & Wed., Apr. 30, at Slater City Hall, 101 Story St. Enrollment will be first come, first served. For everyone's safety, enrollment is capped at each level. Please have your child/ren's registration forms filled out in advance if possible. Please access the form below.

Pool Rental for Celebrations:

Step 1: Read over the details and Pool Rental Agreement below.

Step 2: Narrow down some possible dates for your celebration. *Pool parties can only be on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday from 7:15 pm-8:45 pm. Availability dates fall between Fri., June 13 and Sun., Aug. 17.

Step 3: Beginning Tues., April 1, call or stop by Slater City Hall to see if your date is available. 515-685-2531, 101 Story St., Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm. *We will not take reservations, forms, or payment before April 1. 

Pool Rental Rates & Info:

Pool rentals run from 7:15 PM to 8:45 PM. The hour and a half rental fee varies based on the size of the group. *Group size includes everyone who enters through the door/gate; swimmers and non-swimmers, regardless of age. To ensure proper staffing for your event, please provide an accurate total number of attendees.

Patrons may bring their own cake and drinks. Glass containers and alcohol are not permitted.
